Interested in joining 5th Grade Band but not sure which instrument is right for you? You’ve come to the right place! Visit our Beginning Band website to explore the instruments, learn how the selection process works, and find helpful information for getting started.

Students do not need to bring an instrument on the first day of band. Our instrument-selection process helps each student find an instrument that supports their interests and gives them the best opportunity for success.

The 2026 Instrument Exploration Day and Parent/Caregiver Information and Rental Meeting have concluded. If your student would still like to participate or your family needs help securing an instrument, please contact Mr. Miller.

5th Grade Band students will utilize Measures of Success, Book 1 for their 1st and 2nd year of instrumental study. You are able purchase the instrument specific book from Mr. Miller for $12.00 ($25.00 for Percussion) or through a local music retailer.
