The Columbiana High School Concert Band consists of students in grades 8 - 12 and rehearses five days per week during 9th period. This is a performance-based ensemble aligned to the Ohio Music Content Standards with a formal Winter Concert in December and a Spring Concert in May. In addition, students participating in the high school ensemble are granted the opportunity to participate in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 8 Solo and Ensemble Adjudicated Event, District 8 Honor Band (by audition), Columbiana County Honor Band (by audition), Stambaugh Youth Concert Band (by audition), and the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra (by audition). Members of the High School Concert band have also been active in the community, providing music for the annual Veteran's Day Assembly and the Columbiana Commencement Ceremony.
The Columbiana Concert Band travels annually to participate in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) large-group adjudication at Hoover High School in Canton. The band has earned an overall rating of II, Excellent, the past three years.
